easy to follow -
I haven't had a chance to make any items from Little Stitches yet, that's why only 3 stars. Once I've made at least one thing for my coming little one I'll upgrade to 5 I'm sure. I have another book by Butler, In Stitches, and have made several projects. I enjoy the clarity of her step-by-step instructions. Her patterns are unique and useful, two great qualities.

I have made several of the items in the book and then made the modern diaper bag a few more times for friends and gifts. The patterns were great and the instructions were easy to follow. I even resized a few of the patterns to make cute smaller bags. Thanks Amy Butler!

The photography is beautiful, however, I would like be able to see a full shot of the clothing to get a more exact idea of how it looks prior to making it. Although I haven't made any of the patterns yet, I am looking forward to it!!

beautiful pictures, but lacking instructions -
first let me say this is a beautiful book with artistic photographs, showing most of the products in use and being worn by attractive moms and very cute children. the spiral binding and the convenient folder to hold the patterns is a practical bonus. if that were all I expected this would rate 5 starts.
the problems with the book are as follows: there are NO clear or concise diagrams or photos of the finished products.
the instructions are at times vague, incomplete or all together lacking as in not there at all.
not all projects in the book have patterns, this can be most vexing if you have never made your own patterns before.
I am an experienced sewer, I can complete and alter vogue patterns, so when I say this is not a book for beginners I have an understanding of difficulty. some of the projects are simple and very easy to sew if you know how and do not require clear concise diagrams and instructions. if you are new to sewing, or unable to sew on the fly, this is not a book for you.
